OpenShift Container Platform upgrade on IBM Cloud Pak System in a disconnected environment

With the frequent new incoming releases of OpenShift, it becomes all the more necessary to stay up-to-date with the latest platform version. Also, OpenShift Cluster Platform (OCP) upgrade has its own set of requirements and process to follow. By following the steps mentioned in the article, you can upgrade your old platform version to the desired version. 

OpenShift Container Platform upgrade is supported on both of the following environments :

 

  1. Disconnected environment: This environment does not have an internet connectivity.  A private docker registry is required to upgrade in such environment, where the relevant images can be mirrored. 
  2. Online environment: The environment which has internet connectivity. In this case, the images will be pulled directly from Red Hat.
