Kirsten Newcomer
Director, Cloud and DevSecOps Strategy, Red Hat
Kirsten's focus at Red Hat is cloud-native security, including DevSecOps. Kirsten works closely with Red Hat’s many security professionals across the Red Hat portfolio of enterprise-ready open source offerings. Kirsten is a diversified software management professional with 15+ years of experience in security, application development and infrastructure solutions. Prior to joining Red Hat, Kirsten provided strategic direction for Black Duck’s open source security and governance solutions. Kirsten recently joined the Kubernetes Policy work group and Security SIG. Her career has spanned successful roles at IBM Software Group, Rational Software and BMC Software. Kirsten was an early contributor to the Linux Foundation's Software Package Data Exchange (SPDX) specification, which provides a set of standards for communicating the components, licenses, and copyrights associated with software. In her free time, enjoys hiking and dancing with her husband.
Sridhar Muppidi
IBM Fellow, VP & CTO IBM Security
Dr. Sridhar Muppidi is an IBM Fellow and Chief Technology Officer in IBM Security. He drives the technical strategy, architecture, and Research for IBM Security focused on Threat Management & Response, Digital Identity & Fraud Protection, Application & Data Security, Mobile & Cloud Security.
He is one of the industry-recognized technical experts and thought leaders in security with 20 years’ experience in software product development and security solutions architecture for several industry verticals. He has delivered many market-leading products and solutions for IBM and clients while embracing key transformations like agile, mobile, cloud, and digital. His current responsibilities include driving Research, leading workgroups in security & privacy, and representing IBM in open standards activities.
Sridhar has an MS and a Ph.D. in computer science from Texas A&M University. He is an IBM Master inventor with 50+ patents and has published extensively in technical conferences and journals.
