  • 1.  [STAP traffic monitoring] What's out there?

    Posted Tue October 15, 2019 04:31 PM
    Hi There,

We're in the process of reviewing our S-TAP traffic and highlight the ones with the most volume of traffic and possibly consuming most space in our appliances.

So, I'd like to open up for discussion what's available out there in terms of options to review and discover on these S-TAPs statistics, performance, etc... the reports/columns, alerts, cli/grdapi commands...

Thanks in advance for your inputs !

    Regards,
    -Felipe

Hi Felipe, I checked a bit, and it seems you have at least 2 ways to estimate traffic load for each S-TAP:

grdapi get_load_balancer_load_map details MB per S-TAP (make sure load balancing is activated for each S-TAP).

    see https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SSMPHH_11.0.0/com.ibm.guardium.doc.admin/aggregate_cm/load_balancing_viewing_load_map.html

Another way is to approximate and aggregate data from predefined reports like DB Server Throughput, S-Tap Events, utilization levels, etc. See https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SSMPHH_11.0.0/com.ibm.guardium.doc/reports/predefined_admin_reports.html

Let me know how did you manage to solve your problem, at the end.

    Hi Daniel,

Thanks for sharing that info !

We will certainly take a look to have a better understanding on that and hopefully will help to get our reports/graphs out of it...

Thanks again for your suggestions !

    Regards,
    -Felipe
