Hi, we have a customer who wants to use Samsung TAB with only Chrome, Camera and Gallery, they also want us to distribute a webapp whith the company logo as icon and a wallpaper
I have tried to do this in Android Enterprice settings and i can do as the customer wants but i can`t get rid of the google search box , my files app and contact app, they just get greyed out and disabled and i cant get the app they want to be visible on the home screen, the apps is only wisible when i scroll down to see all apps.

So now i try with COSU kiosk, i get the chrome app, wifi settings, camera and galleri app so thats ok,  but i cant get the web app in this mode, is that possible ?
The second problem is that the home button is deactivated.  To go back to the home screen i need to hit the back button many times to get back to the home screen. Is there any way to enable the home button ?

    Hi Kjell,

Are the webapps being distributed via the "Webapp for Android Enterprise" workflow, rather than the more generic, cross-platform "Web App" option?  If so, each webapp created for android enterprise receives and App Bundle ID viewable in the portal.  Whitelisting this app ID for COSU should allow it to appear on the launcher.

What version of Android are the devices running?  The home button functionality wasn't added to COSU until Android version 9.  Prior to that users can double tap the back button to get back to the main launcher screen.

If you can get me a little more device info (without giving up any sensitive information) I can research why the device isn't hiding the disabled apps and only greying them out.

    Hi,  thanks for the reply.
The webapp was distributed in the  web app option, i have deleted this now and added again in the webapp for Android Enterprice option, then this problem was solved:-) But i still cannot use the home button on this device, i can see that the Android verson is 8.1.0 and it cant find any newer verson, maybee its to old.
The test tab i am using is SM-T580 Galaxy Tab A. But the customer is using the new Samsung Tab Active Pro SM-T545NZKAE31 so i guess this will work on his devices..

    Regarding AE DO  disable apps
    Samsung Tab A SM-T580
    Android 8.1.0

    Kjell,
Google Search Box:  Try removing com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox using App Compliance.

We've engaged our dev team to see if there are any enhancements that can be implemented to more thoroughly remove the app, but this is currently expected behavior (I believe that behavior can vary depending on OEM and OS version).

we have the same on our AE DO devices - a gray  Google Search Box , because our security want to disable it on devices!
