    Hello everyone,
I noticed a strange behavior of zAlert regarding the email destination fields.
If I use a mailing list included in an external dataset specifying the name in the "Mail to" row of the Zalert destination panel, it works fine.
But, if I would like to specify the mailing list dataset in the CC row of the same panel I get an error (see screenshot below)
Specifying the same dataset in BCC row, it works fine.
    Any suggestion ?

    Thank you !

    Hello Luigi
From the zSecure Alert User Reference Manual, page 26 (or 42 in the pdf):

The email destination referenced by its name can be used in the Mail to field of an alert.

The manual does not say you can use an email list in the CC field.

The field level help panels (F1) are also helpful.  For Mail to:

    and for the CC field:

    > Specifying the same dataset in BCC row, it works fine.

That is to say, the destination (W) panel does not complain, but you ain't seen nothing yet until you try to verify (V) the alert set.

By the way, are there benefits to change the CC and BCC fields, and add support for mail list specifications (and change documentation,  etc. accordingly)?

    Tks Rob,

yes I know what described in the manual, but the question was different because it regards the anomaly of the different behavior between CC and BCC fields in the panel.

-> That is to say, the destination (W) panel does not complain, but you ain't seen nothing yet until you try to verify (V) the alert set.

Maybe (I didn' try with V because I didn't care using it)

-> By the way, are there benefits to change the CC and BCC fields, and add support for mail list specifications (and change documentation,  etc. accordingly)?

Anyway, yes, I agree about the benefits to use the CC, it could be very useful in many cases, and there's no reason why it can't work as MAIL TO
