  • 1.  Admin default password not working

    After deploying the ISAM 9.0.7 vhd image in azure. I observe that i'm unable to login with default admin account username and password. I'm using the custom azure vhd image from IBM passport website.

    In an Azure environment the default admin account is disabled and a new account is automatically created by Azure itself.  I can't remember the exact details but believe that you should be logging into the appliance using your Azure credentials.

    Scott,

    I'm able to login to LMI appliance UI using azure created credentials, but when i try to login in to Command Line through ssh the azure credentials don't work. In this scenario i'm unable to access appliance command line using default admin credentials or through azure created credentials.

    Pradeep,
     
    Now that you have access to the LMI you should be able to set the password for the 'admin' account, which in turn should reactivate it and make it available to the CLI.

    Yes, I tried to reset the password of admin account. But during this process, it is prompting to enter "current password" , which is unknown ( as default password 'admin' doesn't work), and also tried with azure account password, which is also not working.

    I know at some versions of ISAM (on Azure) ssh access won't actually work.
    In order to enable enable the 'admin' account, post-installation, you can apply a fixpack 'unlock_admin_on_azure.fixpack' that you'll need to request from IBM Support.

    (I don't know about more recent versions of the product)
