iBase - Privacy Settings for Queries & Sets

    Good evening i2 users!

We're having an issue with our deployment of iBase and i2. For some use cases we have a requirement to make queries and sets private rather than public. However whichever option we choose it seems that queries and sets are viewable by everyone.

Any ideas? Apologies if this is a N00B question - we've yet to get an in-house resource trained on Designer, so sorry if this is an obvious question that's covered in that application.

    Regards all,

    Seth

Are all your users setup as System Administrators within your iBase security model? Private queries and sets are visible to the user who set the Private flag and users with the System Administrator right.

You can also control access to Sets and Queries with Folder Object Groups. https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSXW43_8.9.13/com.ibm.i2.ibase.admin.doc/folder_object_control_groups.html?cp=SS3J58_9.2.2

    Hi Seth,

No worries about N00B questions.  In fact, these kind of straight forward how-to questions can be opened up as support cases, and we are happy to work with you individually.

In this case, take a look in Designer at the roles for the Users who are able to view the Private Queries and Sets.

Using the Example "User Guide" database,  I log in as SYSADMIN and create a Private Query.  Then I log in as DataEntry, who has fewer privileges in the role.  DataEntry cannot see the Private Query.

You can open a support case at https://ibm.com/mysupport and we'll be happy to get on a call or WebEx to assist.

    Regards,
    Linda
