  • 1.  Customizations for Resilient UI

    Posted Mon May 24, 2021 02:36 PM
    Hello,

I have some questions about customizing some of our incident UI pages and I'm not sure how of it is even possible.

One is the ability for a multi-select field to also allow text entry?

Two, is it possible to trigger refresh of a page?

Three, if a certain value is selected in a dropdown, a new field will appear

    Thank you.

I am not aware of an ability to allow free text entry for a multi select field. I assume that you want to support an "Other" use case where the user enters additional information if they choose Other?

There is no specific mechanism by which to refresh a page. Can you elaborate on your use case a bit more?

It is possible to set up certain parts of a page to appear based on the values of other fields. But that isn't immediate.

    Thank you Ben.
I believe you answered my question above, but let's take for example there is a workflow to retrieve employee data externally based on the first/last name on the incident.
The workflow would then populate user id, location, ... based on that.
I would like the page to then refresh with this new employee data without having to exit the ticket and comeback in, or do a browser refresh.

    Hi @Tim Gray,

This is not a feature to-date. I agree that would be really helpful, today you can save a browser refresh by jumping between tabs instead (saves a second or two).

Ideas have been posted for this as follows:

    Web UI: R-I-169
    Action Status: R-I-456
    Data Tables: R-I-383

Idea portal to up-vote on them is here (there may be a more elegant looking URL, but this is the raw one I have):

This should be possible. Whenever the incident data changes, the UI detects it and refreshes the screen. So, out of the box, this should work and you can try it.
If you want to make certain fields appear based on new data you can set up a Layout Section with conditions:

Set up the conditions to only display the sections when the data is filled in.
