  • 1.  Date and Time format settings ?

    I understood that the display format of date and time in IBM SOAR (using v41.2 now) depends on the end user's browser settings. 

    However, since we are now using MS Edge as a browser, I tried setting these in Edge (via Settings" --> "Manage Account" ==> "MyAccount" (O365)  --> "Settings & Privacy" --> Region. 
    Closing Browser, clearing cache, .... nothing seems to help in changing the display format.
    I also tried changing the "Internet Explorer" settings locally (as sometimes Edge still uses some of these) but to no avail. 

    How could we change the display format (regional date and time format)  for a single user  in IBM SOAR ? (on prem)

    Please try to firefox or opera or chrome. Also activate 3. party cookies. 

     For more date and time format preview to Date Calculator Formats. IBM Security QRadar SOAR can be deployed through IBM Cloud Pak for Security. As part of IBM Cloud Pak for Security, SOAR seamlessly integrates with Data Explorer and Threat Intelligence Insights.

    Also search this settings in IBM Cloud Pak for Security platform panel.

    Thanks for the suggestion, but the thing is that we explicitly need to use the on-prem version, not Cloud Pack for Security - and that we stick with Edge.
    SOAR does not have any issues with Edge (Chromium based). - only thing is that we don't seem to figure out where SOAR is taking its settings from.

    SOAR UI tries to get the timezone information from the browser. A standard javascript library (moment) is used. This can be tricky for certain browsers.

    The first thing I would do is check what timezone the browser thinks it is in. I typically do this using the browser console. I'm using Firefox below:


    Notice it shows Eastern Daylight Time, which is correct for me.  So, it should be the case that once the browser thinks it is in the correct timezone then the SOAR UI should show the date/times that way as well.

    One other thing to note is that there is an option to configure the UI to always show date/times in UTC:

    Still, we cannot manage to solve the "date display format" issue.
    • we are using Edge (currently version 104.0.1293.63) - company induced GPO does not allow to use Firefox or Chrome
      • My "Windows" Regional settings for "short date" are dd/MM/yyyy and display correct anywhere apart from IBM Security SOAR 
      • My "Microsoft Account " settings say: Regional format = English UK - thus  "Date format - August 31st, 2022 will be formatted as 31/08/2022"
      • My "Edge" browser settings are English as well
      • The dates when I download an Incident History report (in an XLS file) are correct
      • The Date Format on-screen AND in Generated Incident Reports (pdf) however is still US format 08/31/2022 - On screen means for all Date fields (e.g. in overviews, task overview, details, ...., analytic dashboards ....)

    Edit: a last change in Edge settings from "English" to "English UK" seems to have solved this now
