Organizations face a variety of crises every day, whether it be a physical crisis or a cyber crisis. The effects of a cyber crisis can have a significant impact on the operations, brand, reputation, or financial standing of the business. At the extreme, the cyber crisis may even threaten the very existence of the enterprise.
I am excited to be leading a new service from IBM Security X-Force that can help companies prepare for these kinds of attacks and minimize impact and downtime - Cyber Crisis Management.
What is it? A whole-of-business response to a crisis-level cyberattack that escalates beyond traditional incident response and threatens the entirety of your organization. It includes a Program Assessment: a review of existing processes, interviews with key stakeholders, and recommendations for improvements; Plan and Playbook Development: a framework for "whole-of-business" response and; Tabletop and Simulation Exercises: tests business processes, procedures, and response to expose gaps.
Why it matters? This service provides a framework to prepare for and respond to crisis level cyberattacks. It delivers a "whole-of-business" plan enabling distinct business functions to act in unison during a crisis while preserving reputation, brand, customer loyalty and fortifying business continuity.
