  • 1.  ISIM - How to disable IPv6 for IBM Security Identity Manager Appliance

    Hi Team,

    How I can disable the IPv6 for IBM Security Identity Manager Appliance?

    During ISIM Appliance initial configuration, It shows below for IPv6 and no option to ignore or disable it.

    Select an IPv6 configuration mode:
1: Automatic
2: Manual

    Also, I could not find any option from appliance Management Console or CLI to disable it.

    There is IBM technote to disable it for IBM Security Access Manager 

    How do I control whether the ISAM appliance uses IPv6

    But I could not find such configurations for ISIM.

    Can someone help me to disable IPv6 for ISIM?

    Prashant,

    Sorry for the delay. I had to do some research. Unfortunately, the ISIM Appliance does not support the same Advanced Configuration parameters as the ISAM Appliance. You can not override the need for the IP V6 configuration setting in the ISIM Appliance.  However, you can use the VM settings for the machine hosting the ISIM Appliance image and disable IPV6 on the Network Adapter for the VM.

    Prashant,

    Sorry for the delay. I needed to do some research. The ISIM VA does not support the IPv6 in the override in the configuration, like ISAM's VA does. However, you could disable IPv6 in the VM configuration of the ISIM VA to disable IPv6 at the Network Adapter for virtual machines.

    Thank you David.

    I checked with customer's Infra team who manages the server and they confirmed that they don't have any option to disable it at VM level.
    I might need to raise PMR/RFE for it.
