  • 1.  Can't add ZOOM as an .apk or URL

    Attempting to add ZOOM using APK and URL

    • Go to Apps | Add | Enterprise App for Android
    • Browse to location of APK and attach it
    • Go to "Policies and Distribution" tab, set it to remove with MDM control removal and Install automatically, then Add
      Then I get the error

     Internal Error occured while uploading the package.

    Please advise.

    Just curious, but Zoom is a publicly available app in the Google Play Store, so why not add it as a Google Play App to the MaaS360 App Catalog?

    Great question Tim!

    IT has to do with stupid users.  The app needs to do an instant install.  The issue, is that my customer had massive issues with COSU and had to re-enroll devices without Android Enterprise.   Hence why the customer is having the issue.

    Can you clarify this question for me Matt?  I really don't understand the concept of Storage Space in MaaS.

    Thanks Mitch - that clears that up. 

    Do you know how the APK was obtained?  If it was direct from the developer/owner or something that was 'ripped' from the Play store?   The latter is a term of Play store terms and conditions, and is not officially supported by MaaS360.  There are scenarios where this has worked for clients, but there are also scenarios where this has caused issues.

    If you can get a copy of the APK to our support teams, we can try to debug in our own environments as well.

    Did you find a solution for this?  We're seeing the same results doing the same thing you described.  Can't deploy using COSU so trying to instant install apk pulled from mobile device using developer mode.  
    Would love to know if you figured out why this was happening.

    We have not found a solution.  In fact IBM DEV is advising this is an issue with the ZOOM .apk as well as others.  Apparently finding the correct CBD URL for where a given .APK is actually hosted is the real challenge.
