I've recently started to use Android Enterprise and am trying to move away from using Device Admin mode. I've started to setup a policy and have a test mobile phone to see how it works. Everything seems to be working well so far except a couple of things I can't seem to figure out on my own.

I'm using COSU (Kiosk Mode) for our phones. I've noticed with Android Enterprise that the Kiosk Launcher pins itself to the screen and hides the status bar on top. I've noticed there is a setting to have a custom status bar and I've tried that, but noticed that when a notification comes through (such as for a text message) that the notification doesn't make a noise or show up on the status bar as a notification like it would traditionally. I'd like to still use the phones default status bar if possible and to be able to drag it down.

The other thing is where I have this bound to a specific gmail account, I'm wondering if I can add contacts to the gmail account and have it sync across all devices, also any documents I want to have sync across all devices using the bound gmail account.

The mobile devices I have MaaS360 on are Sonim XP8's with Android 8.1. This seems to be the most recent version of Android available for this device.

    Hi Abel,

In regards to the COSU task bar - I know there are some enhancements being done, but don't have a lot of info about what they are.  I recommend raising this as an enhancement request (https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/rfe/).  The RFE will give you direct updates about your specific requests from our OM team.

With the gmail bind the account used is really only for aiding us with account creation behind the scenes and aiding in getting apps to the devices on the client facing side.  It can not grant access to users for other Google services (including contacts).  This could be done via Activesync and an enterprise mail service such as G Suite or Office 365.

Hope this helps - let me know if there is anything else we can do.
