IBM Security MaaS360

We have had several customers ask us recently regarding sharing a default contact list throughout all devices in the MaaS360 portal.

We have looked through the MaaS360 support pages and on the policies directly and we cannot seem to find anything that suggests MaaS360 can help with this.  There seems to be some sort of contacts option if you are using the Deluxe licences, but this customer is on Essentials.

Can anyone assist with this to confirm whether contact sharing is an option through MaaS360 across any of the licence levels?

Having looked again in the IBM help centre, there is a suggestion around Secure Mail and being able to access your personal and corporate contacts through here.

Does anyone know if you can add a corporate contact directory into MaaS360 from this that will be shared across all users in the portal?

Hi Darren
Individual contact records can be shared as VCF (Virtual Card File) records and stored on a network share or on your MaaS360 document cloud (Docs menu). 
If importing these files the device will create a contact record from each file locally. 
Alternatively if you want to have a centrally managed list of contacts this is best done on your mail server.

Hi Eamonn

Thank you for this.  We have been playing around with this and we have come across the CardDav section in Advanced Settings on an iOS policy.  This looks as though we can create a contacts list through CardDav on something like Google and then import these through.  However, this option does not look to be available through the Android policy.

We have also done this through a shared mailbox route which has worked as long as you have the Outlook app.  So it seems like there are options for this, we just need to get our heads around the best method.  Are you aware of an option through Android that can assist us with the contacts sharing other than what you have mentioned?

Hi Darren
The Apple format doesn't work on Android devices, only VCF will. 
I'm not aware of other options but can confirm that we have had this question on a number of occasions before and don't believe there is anything else you can do.
