I think if for the state of Guardium before any changes is fine but not as backup/archive option. Don't forget Guardium collecting tons of DB activities and it could be more than few hundred GBs, the Guardium storage may not able to keep all data if your organization require long term retention. It is still advisable to archive the monitored data outside of Guardium.

A client use Hyper-V Checkpoint system to backup their all their VM environments. They have suggested if they can apply the same approach to backup/archive their Guardium system deployed on a VM. I want to find out if that meets IBM Guardium backup/archive system policy.
Secondly, will the checkpoint backup system work perfectly when they want to restore a previous backup.
