Windows devices have been a mainstay of corporate computing for decades and the pandemic further fuelled growth in the Windows 10 platform. The Windows features of IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson are designed to help customers manage that growth, keep systems safe and compliant, and ensure end-user productivity. Let’s focus today on how MaaS360 can help make device enrollments “hassle-free” with its Windows 10 Bulk Provisioning tool.

In short, Bulk provisioning helps provides an efficient way to set up a large number of devices to be managed by a mobile device management (MDM) solution.

Note:  The Azure Active Directory Join (Cloud Domain Join) enrollment scenario is not included in the tool. The administrator can leverage the Windows Out of Box Experience (OOBE) enrollment, but it will not be bulked enrolment, the end-user attention is needed to get the enrolment done. For more information about OOBE enrolment, please visit this topic in the IBM Knowledge Center.

What is the Windows 10 Bulk Provisioning tool?

The tool enables administrators to automatically enroll Windows 10 devices into the MaaS360 Portal. To use it, administrators can use either the legacy imaging method to enroll devices or configure our Windows 10 Bulk Provisioning Tool to generate an executable to enroll windows 10 devices.

Two ways to use this tool:

  • Create OS image out of the machine where installed and configured with ”use with imaging process”:

For organizations that do not use Azure Active Directory, the bulk provisioning and imaging process for Windows 10 devices can be used. To get more insight into how Windows 10 Bulk Provisioning Tool imaging process work, please visit this topic in the IBM Knowledge Center.

The MaaS360 Portal provides two areas to download the Bulk Provisioning Tool :

Option 1: Setup Menu > Settings Page > Enrollment Programs under Device Enrollment Settings > Windows 10 Bulk Provisioning Tool under Windows section.

Option 2: The tool can also be downloaded from Devices Menu > Enrollments > Other Enrollment Options > Windows 10 Bulk Provisioning Tool

Advantages of using our tool:

Organization looking for MDM solutions can efficiently set up their Windows 10 devices on a large scale in less time and without any need to re-image the devices.

Note
: The Windows 10 Bulk Provisioning Tool Configuration device should be different from the device where it needs to be deployed.

Congratulations! Let’s raise a toast for reaching the end of the blog! Let’s go ahead and try this out together. I am sure it will be worth your time invested! Stick around for the next exciting fun-filled blog! More to come soon!
