 Request for IBM SPSS Statistics Essentials for R 27.0.1 MacOS Installer

Hello,

I am currently using IBM SPSS Statistics 27.0.1 on a MacBook Air (Apple Silicon, macOS Sequoia 15.6.1). I have already installed R 3.6.3 (Intel build) at the expected location /Library/Frameworks/R.framework/Resources.

However, my SPSS installation does not recognize BEGIN PROGRAM R. blocks. Based on IBM documentation, I understand that I need to install the IBM SPSS Statistics Essentials for R 27.0.1 (MacOS, Intel) add-on. Unfortunately, I have been unable to locate a working .dmg installer for this package on the IBM support site or GitHub releases.

Could you please provide me with:

  • A direct download link to the Essentials for R 27.0.1 MacOS installer, or

  • Guidance on how to obtain it through my IBM account or Fix Central?

This plug-in is required for me to run R code within SPSS (e.g., BEGIN PROGRAM R.).

You get the R ESSENTIALS via the Extensions > Extension Hub menu.  After you install it, you need to run it once IIRC from the Extensions menu.

Note that in newer SPSS versions, R and the R Essentials are installed automatically with SPSS..
