 Migration from Salesforce Adapter to CloudStreams (CS) Salesforce connectors – approach, challenges, and reusable assets

Hi All,

We are currently evaluating a migration from the IBM webMethods Salesforce Adapter to CloudStreams (CS)–based Salesforce connectors, and wanted to check if anyone has already gone through this transition.

Background:

  • Current integrations use Salesforce Adapter with SOAP login() authentication
  • Salesforce has announced retirement of SOAP login() by June 2027, recommending OAuth
  • As per IBM guidance:
    • OAuth 2.0 is not supported in the existing adapter
    • No roadmap for OAuth in the legacy adapter
    • CloudStreams connectors are the recommended strategic direction (supporting OAuth, REST & SOAP)

Looking for inputs on:

  • Has anyone migrated from Salesforce Adapter → CloudStreams connectors?
  • What migration approach did you follow ?
  • Any challenges faced (mapping, performance, feature gaps)?
  • Did you build any reusable/common services (auth handling, logging, error handling)?

We are particularly interested in practical implementation experience to help plan our migration effectively.
