 How do you reset the admin password on the power 6 8204-e8a

The documentation mentions the pin-hole button on the control panel. I pushed this and held it for a bit, but that didn't work. Also tried removing the TOD battery for 5 minutes. That didn't work either. Documentation mentions dip switches, but my model doesn't seem to have these. How can the password be reset?

Hello,

from what i remember.

Power6 550. 8204-E8A. How to reset the ASMI admin password:
A. celogin from ASMI. request password from IBM support
B. DIP switch on MB
SINGLE SW1 dip switch on the mainboard, located between the Slot 1 Processor Book and the first PCI-e slot.
SW1 is micro SMD and hard to find. It’s covered by mylar (polyester film) and requires a very small tool to engage.
