Hi Nag,
it depends on your LPAR configuration and the managed system where the LPAR is currently running.
If you don't have enough resources on your current managed system, you must first migrate and then add resources.
If you have enough resources, but still can't add resources to your LPAR, check the LPAR configuration. You can't excess your maximum LPAR configuration. If you configured your LPAR e.g. with maximum 8 vCPUs, you can't add 9 vCPUs into it. You must stop the LPAR, reconfigure it and start it from the new profile.

Subject: while doing LPM, can we add more CPUs
Hello experts,
I am doing LPM first time. The current system/frame maxed out on CPU resoruces, so I want to LPM the live partition without downtime , but want to add more Virtual Processors and processing units , Is that possible ? or do I have to shutdown the Lpar . I tried dynamically to add at least 1 VP and 0.5 processing units ( frame had 1 Unit available ) but those are grayed out , unless I shut the Lpar ?
Please advise.
Thanks
Nags
