Tucked away at the bottom of the world in Australia we have struggled with net new client growth for IBM Power sites in this region, whether for IBM i or AIX. The halcyon days of the major ISVs that promoted their solutions on the platforms are gone. At least in this part of the world. The last 'new' IBM i client in Australia was last year, and this was a company that purchased a business unit from another company that ran an unsupported Infor application, so needed IBM Power and IBM i. Prior to this, the last new client was over 10 years ago.
Even the large AIX ISVs such as SAP and Oracle are leaving the platform behind in favour of their own cloud offerings.
My question to the wider IBM Power community is simple - Do you still know of ISVs that work with IBM to generate new IBM Power customers for either AIX or IBM i? I would love to meet them and bring them to Australia.
