    Team --

We could use some AIX insight to the following customer question:

Just to expand a bit on that:

    1.    The client needs to SFTP a file which contains PII to an external vendor.

    2.     The vendor only supports PGP as an encryption format.

Being  AVAMAR is a  Dell/EMC product -- what is their position on this and possible alternatives if any???
I proposed that to the client to followup on

Dell EMC® Avamar Software - Optimized Virtual Environments

    3.     Since the file is being generated on one of AIX server(s) they would like software that will encrypt there.

    a.     If above is not possible they can SCP to a Linux host for the encryption.

    b.     As a last resort they can look as something on a Windows environment.

    4.     The account will be scripting all this to have as little human interaction as possible. CLI type tools would be preferred.

    5.     The client also already tried gpg from the IBM site,  but its dependency on libgcc created problem for him with backup. It may also create problem with Oracle since it also uses that library.  I haven't received the version they are trying to use of libgcc

    6.     The upload will occur no more frequently than once a week so this is very low volume.

They client is asking if anyone in the IBM world has come across what other shops are using to address this type of process.

The gnupg2 in the toolbox is reportedly compatible with pgp.  Lots of info on the gnupg.org site.  I would install it and test with a non-critical file.
