  • 1.  We plan to try our first Hybrid User Group

    Hi Y'all

    We are getting ready to host our first Hybrid User Group Meeting, with a small number of delegates coming to the venue and the rest attending via Zoom.   This is made more complex by having some presenters local and some remote. 

    But we think we have come up with a technical solution and the skills to mix and match these sessions so that locat and remote delegates and presenters alike can talk to one another.

    We see this as the medium to long term future of user group meetings and as a small way of bringing the old normal into the new normal when it comes to conferences.

    I'm posting here as I'd be very interested in your thoughts and comments about this format.

    Hi Steve,
    While we are having more events than ever, far greater attendance than ever, the interaction and networking are lacking.
    Its good to see i-UG having an event and finding ways to increase and improve interaction.

    I think hybrid attendance is the next step. Pandemic aside, we all need to be heading down this road anyway to maximize participation. Good on you!

    I think this is very intersting! This has always been an issue in the past, at least with standard business meetings with the remote people lost in the discussion all the time.. I'm in and happy to participate in any test sessions.

    This is the ideal situation for me as a presenter.  I can attend your events which are local to me and due to disability unable to travel far, so can still present remotely.
