“You and i” – IBM i Key Topics – the Anchor Post
Today’s post serves multiple purposes. First, as I write it, I am at the beginning of writing a series of posts – I’ll talk about the series, and what it contains, in the next paragraph. Second, I want to have an “Anchor” which I can share with people who need to be able to find specific topics in in the future. That’s this post. I will share the URL of this post often, so that people can find the latest versions of each of these topics easily. What do I mean? Let’s get on to that “next paragraph” I promised.
I’ve written “You and i” for more than a decade. Many of my most important posts are fundamental to the IBM i platform, the IBM i strategy, the IBM i community. In these posts, I give information which answers frequently asked questions, or I share thoughts which I think are important for every person in the IBM i community to hear from the Chief Architect.
When I started writing “You and i,” I had hoped I’d be able to keep all of those key posts easily accessible, so that they could be used to answer and educate over time. However, changes in social media platforms have caused them all to disappear. (People will tell you that anything ever posted on the Internet is always still there, but I can tell you that, even if that’s true, it’s certainly not easy to find!)
Now that I am writing “You and i” as part of the IBM Power Systems Community, I’ve decided to revise and republish the key topics. And, because I’ve grown to recognize that people who have one Frequently Asked Question often have other FAQs, as well, I thought I’d try to create a gathering point for these topics.
This should also provide me a chance to refresh topics as needed. For example, two of the topics you’ll see in the list relate to IBM i Roadmaps. I should be able to update those Roadmap posts as new announcements are made, but the link will remain here.
In essence, to create the list of topics, I’ve picked the parts of my typical “IBM i Strategy & Roadmap” presentation and created posts for each part. As I write this Anchor post, none of the rest of them have been written. They will be. And when they are, I will link to them here.
