Recent Updates of the RDi Labs

By Edmund Reinhardt posted Sat February 27, 2021 02:03 AM

As some of you may or may not be aware, the Rational Developer for i product team provides a set of guided learning exercises free of charge.   The PDFs and SAVF for these labs are available on the [How to Learn RDi](http://ibm.biz/rdi_labs) page.

Demonstration Server

IBM supplies a pre-configured environment on a publically available IBM i partition to work through these labs.  You can be assigned a user profile and password on the machine and you have a week to complete the labs.  The demonstration server 'embox1.demos.ibm.com' that has been used for many years has now gone into retirement.   Consequently we have moved the demonstration server  to 'common1.frankeni.com'.  We have also updated the web page providing team assignment and password http://ibm.biz/rdi_labs_getuserid

Big thanks to Larry Bolhuis of Frankeni Technology Consulting LLC and Pete Massiello of iTech Solutions for their generosity in letting us host the labs on their public IBM i.

Lab contents update
We have refreshed all of the materials in the labs to the latest version of RDi  which is 9.6.0.10.  You can see what is new for each release here.
New content was added such as a section in Lab04 about *Conditional Service Entry Breakpoints*.

For support in accessing these labs, please submit your question at http://ibm.biz/rdi_forum and set the product to Rational Developer and tag your question with rdi.

Enjoy developing with RDi!
