Total's Pangea III supercomputer ranks #11 overall on the latest iteration of the TOP500 ranking of supercomputers and is the most powerful commercial supercomputer on the list.

Pangea III is being built using the same IBM POWER9 AI-optimized, high-performance architecture as used in the U.S. Department of Energy's Summit and Sierra supercomputers in the #1 and #2 spots on the TOP500, and like Summit, the IBM XL C/C++ for Linux and IBM XL Fortran for Linux compilers contributed to the Pangea III supercomputer's success.
