Did anyone experience way-off "sent" email totals in the past 2 days?

On Oct 28 we scheduled an email to be sent that night to a query of over 100K, which, after suppression, was down to about 92K.  After sending, the report said that only a little over 1600 emails were sent.  There were no suppressions due to frequency control or anything else other than opt outs.  Acoustic support is looking into it; however I wondered if anyone else experienced this recently, or ever.  It seems like an issue on the Acoustic server side.  Thanks for any input.

    Hi Tom,

Just guessing here as I have no visibility over your send, but have you re-calculated your Query to make sure it is still selecting the number of contacts you were expecting? Did you have date criteria, which could have changed the selection if the Query was re-calculated before the send? Or did any database import jobs run between the time you checked your Query and the time the email was sent, which could have changed values for fields included in the criteria?

It would be good to know what the problem was once you hear back from Acoustic.

    Kind regards,
    Martin Aso

Martin, thanks for your reply.  Yes, the query was recal'd before and after the send, and no issues there.

It's sounding like something bombed at a lower layer than Campaign...as in, dns/mta/smtp; and at the Campaign application layer, it assumed all was well.

We sent the same email last night to a slightly modified version of the same query, having added a criteria "...and has not been sent email X", and the send count was only a little over 50 contacts ... which are basically just new contacts that meet the criteria (added to the db since the first email send).  So, WCA thinks it sent that first email to the 92K.

I hope Campaign support has sufficient diagnostic capabilities to prove at least that much...

    Tom,

Another angle is to open a case and route it to Deliverability within your support portal and ask for the delivery and bounce logs for your specific mailing ID.  The good folks within the Deliverability team will send over excel files that have the details for the mailing which can be super helpful in tracking down possible issues.

Ty, yes they've booted this up to engineering finally to study the logs.
