Maximo Integration

We have been developing an application that makes use of the MIF. Essentially as an example to illustrate if one changes the ASSET record
the MIF framework will generate a SOAP message which we send using a configured endpoint. If the SOAPserver is misconfigured or password mismatched the outbound will queue up for an administrator to reprocess. Everything is fine.

Here's what we have as a requirement. If the attributes that we are pulling from the object structure have a length that exceeds what can be put in the external system the SOAP server would return a Soap fault that will say something like "Value exceeds what can be done on my side".At this point AFA Maximo is concerned it did send the message and got a successful albeit what is not considered an "integration success".So I have created a custom table so that I can hold those conditions.

It is then as simple as alerting a user to say hey what you did on Asset 13150 did not result in a successful transaction can you do what you did last, but again this not something that a user would like to do. So how can I simulate a change of ASSET:13150 without user interaction? AFAIK I see the framework spring into action if I change something on the Record.

I am open to ideas as I have the relevant info to reprocess it but I do not know how to trigger a faux change or if there are better ways.

    Thanks for any ideas.

I think I just have to do this https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/maximo-7-how-manually-trigger-outbound-interface
after I fix what went wrong in the external soap server
