  • 1.  Tracing client IP hitting APIC domain using DPOD

We are trying to trace client IP hitting API's configured in DP API gateway(apic domain) using DPOD tool but we see only load balancer IP's in client IP column in DPOD tool and not actual client application IP. Is there a way we can trace the source IP invoking API's using DPOD tool and avoid logging load balancer IP's in DPOD?

    Hi Shanmuga,
The only way I'm aware this could be done is for the load balancer to inject the x-forwarded-for header that would contain the IP of its client as DataPower only ever sees the IP of the client that is directly sending it the request, as you noted, the load balancer in your case.

just enabling the XFF will not work in API domain, if you offload the Analytic data atleast headers, then only it is visible for APIConnect domain.
