    Hi all,

I am configuring APIC 2018, OVA deployment. Single instance manager, portal and analytics. I uploaded ISO images and started up everything. No issues there. Than I realized that NTP settings had not been added. I used the information found on https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSMNED_2018/com.ibm.apic.install.doc/tapim_add_ntp_vmware.html

to update my iso images. When I checked the ISO images before replacing them they correctly contained the NTP server settings. However when I upload the images and start up the VMs I don't see the expected output.
I still the same output for "journalctl -u systemd-timesyncd" as before.
    Nov 19 12:04:06 gdcapipap816 systemd-timesyncd[726]: Timed out waiting for reply from 91.189.89.198:123 (ntp.ubuntu.com).
    Nov 19 12:04:16 gdcapipap816 systemd-timesyncd[726]: Timed out waiting for reply from 91.189.89.199:123 (ntp.ubuntu.com).
    Nov 19 12:38:35 gdcapipap816 systemd-timesyncd[726]: Timed out waiting for reply from 91.189.94.4:123 (ntp.ubuntu.com).

Any idea? Something I have done wrong? Do you need to create new VMs when you want to update the NTP settings (meaning losing all configuration...)?

    Hi Dirk,

I think the cloud-init settings are pre-install only ... I will ask here in IBM what the best action would be.

Edit: for the NTP settings, best option is to set them manually on the Ubuntu VMs.

    Dirk,

I would recommend to run the install command without creating new iso image from the same project folder. This way later if you want to update any value, you can append it and you will not lose any configuration what you setup earlier.
