  • 1.  What DNS servers can be included via APICUP when installing OVA v10

    Hi all,

    We are installing v10, OVA on our own servers and have setup a private DNS server, next to our company DNS servers (to avoid that we need to ask every change formally ;-)). When installing we listed all DNS servers, our private DNS and the official company DNS servers. Our APIC server names are only known in the private DNS server. 
    When using this setup we receive a lot of hostname not found exceptions on the Portal (towards manager) and Analytics. NSLOOKUP's and CURLs work perfectly from the respective servers. Our impression is that each DNS servers added needs to know the APIC server names and that you cannot add a DNS server that has knows only your company official entries. Is this correct? So if you provide multiple DNS servers than this is for HA reasons but not for aggregation reasons. Correct? 

    (hopefully our question makes sense, not a DNS expert ;-))

    Please do include only DNS server where all hostnames/subdomain/reverse lookup exists. Do not include corporate DNS, when request goes to corp DNS server, request will fail/get timed out as no entry exists on that server.
