IBM Integration User Group UK

The User Group was founded in 1996, and has held user events each year since. Currently we have around 80-100 attendees at each of the meetings that we hold at IBM South Bank and IBM Hursley each year.

The user group is an independent body, whose purpose is to promote the understanding of IBM Integration technologies, and industry trends. These technologies include IBM's Messaging, Cloud Integration and API Economy technologies, and products include:
  • IBM MQ
  • IBM App Connect Enterprise (aka IBM Integration Bus / Message Broker)
  • IBM DataPower
  • IBM API Connect
  • IBM Cloud
  • IBM Cloud Pak for Integration
Typical industry trends covered include:
  • Cloud
  • Containerisation of Integration Technologies
  • Microservices
  • Agile Integration Architecture and Modernisation
  • Integration Technology Architectures
  • Governance
  • Patterns

Our premier event is held once a year at IBM Hursley, the home of IBM MQ & IBM Integration and API technologies. A normal year will involve two events; for example:
  • WebSphere User Group at IBM South Bank, in London - collaborative: March
  • IBM Integration User Group at IBM Hursley, near Winchester - in-depth: June or July

Dates are for guidance - please see the events tab on this site for the actual schedules.

The user group is a non-profit making organisation. We predominately service the UK community, and as such most of our members are UK based.

The committee meets several times a year to plan and organise the events. We are always interested to know if anyone would like to join the committee; if you would, then please contact us via this group, or see us at one of our events for a face-2-face chat.

The current committee is:

  • Chairman - Mike Wyvill (Schroders)
  • IBM Representative - Tetti Pandelias (IBM)
  • Secretary/Communications - Mike Dent (NatWest Markets)
  • Treasurer - David Wicks (Independent)
  • Committee Member - Shailen Devani (TCS - Tata Consultancy Services)
  • Committee Member - Ian Hurworth (Investec Bank)
  • Committee Member - Michael Sarni (Independent)
  • Committee Member - James Blackburn (Marks and Spencer)
  • Associate Committee Member - Dharmesh Patel (RS Components)

  • IBM Integration User Group Meeting

    Dear User Group Members,

The IBM Integration User Group (UK) committee are pleased to invite you to our next gathering, which is taking place on Monday 1st April 2019 at IBM Southbank in London. The gathering will be comprised of two events, and feel free to attend both or either of them.

The first event is our UK User Group Meeting, starting at 12:00 for 12:30 and ending at 17:20. We are planning five sessions per stream, with multiple streams covering the following topics: Cloud, Integration, Messaging, APIs, Application Platform plus Related Topics, Technologies and Architectures.

This time, our Integration User Group is joining up to present with the IBM Cloud, and the WebSphere Application User Group so there are streams on Cloud and WAS / Application platform technologies; more detail is in the agenda.

A light sandwich lunch will be provided during registration.

Agenda and registration details are available on our community site (details about how to join are at the end of this email):

In addition, and as a change to our usual format, our second event is an Integration Meetup, straight after the User Group meeting (the evening of Monday 1st April 2019 at IBM Southbank in London).  The meetup will have the keynote presentation on ‘Integration architecture for the hybrid and multi-cloud enterprise’ by Kim Clark, Integration Architect at IBM Hursley Laboratories, as well as providing the opportunity for networking by attendees and User Group presenters. Pizza and beer will be provided at the event. To register, please use the link below:

You can attend either or both of the events, and as such each registration is dealt with separately.

We hope to see you in April.
