This presentation gives an overview of IBM Z and LinuxONE Crypto HW and the clear key, protected key and secure key concepts and shows how this crypto HW these cryptographic concepts can be exploited by Linux on Z and LinuxONE. This includes explaining how Crypto HW resources can be configured to LPARs z/VM or KVM guests and containers. Further the presentations shows how Crypto HW resources can be managed inside a Linux system and how they can be used via crypto libraries and for end-to-end disk encryption.
