Presented at the 2021 Client Workshop for Linux on IBM Z and LinuxONE!
Two recordings - one of the event for Americas and EMEA and one of the event for APAC

Red Hat OpenShift on IBM Z is one of the most discussed topics in the IBM Z & LinuxONE universe today. Being part of the project for over a year now, the performance team in Boeblingen was involved in quite a lot discussions, and the most frequently asked questions were revolving around the CPU consumption. The session aims to give an overview of the CPU virtualization on IBM Z and how does OpenShift perceive it. Does OpenShift understand what an IFL is? Why is my cluster consuming IFLs if no workload is deployed? Why are the OpenShift and zVM dashboard showing different utilization values? Answers to those and to a lot of other questions regarding CPU consumption will be addressed in this session. Additionaly, some performance best practices and tips will be discussed.
