Interact with experts for developing hybrid applications spanning IBM Z and multi cloud platforms using a standard DevOps toolchain
Overview of z/OS Callable Services: z/OS callable services are native services for high-level-languages that enable MVS services by issuing CALLs
With the Java container image in IBM z/OS Container Platform, users can: Increase speed from development to deployment of z/OS Java based applications, users can worry less about the system setup/configuration Increase predictability and repeatability across the application lifecycle for z/OS Java applications Scale and load balance easily, by spreading the load on different Java-based containers and processors Enhance best practices across z/OS Java development, testing, and operations Develop Java applications and deploy them natively as container images in z/OS containers

And we know it’s equally important to continue to leverage new and existing z/OS applications and infrastructures while also tapping into emerging cloud native architectures and ecosystems
However, it is also possible to deploy the web app as a native app (hybrid) after some modification to the generated code. We will describe how to develop a native mobile app(hybrid) with RBD in this blog article
Below is an illustration of how SMU can be deployed inside the z/OS native zCX container that provides, a preconfigured Linux kernel, Docker and uses network, storage and processor used by regular z/OS address spaces. The same SMU or Z ChatOps Docker image that can run the the zLinux or x86 Linux Docker runtime environment can also be deployed into this z/OS environment. A native z/OS deployment is easier and faster since there is no need for a separate Linux environment or as many skills associated with distributed platforms
