I came into the Technology field (Data Processing as it was known then) after a failed career as a professional prize fighter. Kind of by Luck. I missed an opportunity for a elevator-operator-doorman job and just to do something positive that day; I signed up for college. Had no idea on what to take but a councilor suggested that computers would be the thing of the future. That's how it started.
12 years as a Cobol/CICS/VSAM Programmer and then I became a Consultant/Contractor. I got away from the technical stuff and a did a lot of hiring and managing. I operated a small IT firm successfully for 15 years before a spell of bad luck forced me to go back into the job market......I've worked more as a BA/PM for the last few years, but this isn't my specialty..... The best days for me were when I had a technical problem to figure out or being directly involved with an integration or development project. I know things have changed but I still remember everything, and I'm like a sponge. I just need direction.
I want to sharpen my skills for patenting myself as a Re-engineering, Support Specialist. I 'm a quick study but i need to brush up on DB2 and CICS Web Services(IBM MQ, SOAP).
A new beginning.
