With my zD&T, I can get the ADCD environment and the underlying Linux code to support it.  I do not think I am entitled to z/OS maintenance.   If I want to upgrade, I need to install the next version of the libraries and migrate across.
I saw a couple of posts about people wanting to learn how to apply maintenance via SMP/E, which I do not think they will be able to do because I dont think they can get the fixes.

Please can IBM provide information on the ZD&T (Learners edition) about any maintenance process, and how they expect users to upgrade.

If you start with good habits it is easier to migrate to the next ADCD version, for example do not use a HLQ of IBMUSER, create your own and create a user catalog  for them.  Then you just need to import the user catalog.

I feel we need a document/wiki of "my first z/OS system" to list the tasks that new people should do. (Use the ADCDn userids, not IBMUSER; set up backups....).  I can contribute to such a list.
