  • 1.  CPSM compatibility in 6.1 beta

    Is the 6.1 beta CPSM compatible with all old version of CICS? I've connected 5.6 and 5.5 regions but when I try a 5.3 region I get errors. Either 
    @16 DFHSI1579D A05CICS3 Module DFHSIPLT connection program CJG9NXLM not found. Reply GO or CANCEL.

    if I just have the 6.1 CPSM libraries in STEPLIB and DFHRPL or if I include the old 5.3 CPSM libs as well (lower down in the concatenation than the 6.1 CPSM libs) I get

    15.42.13 STC00150 @17 EYUXL0135A A05CICS3 CPSM subsystem (EYUX) or 530 ESSS still not available. Reply 'C' to terminate wait

    I don't think I've missed anything in the install as it works for newer versions so is it just incompatible?  I know 5.3 goes out of service at the end of the year so maybe it's not included?

    Hi Graham,

    As you correctly guessed, with the CICS TS 5.3 release being end of service at the end of this year, CICSPlex SM support for managing this release of CICS is not supplied with the CICS TS 6.1 open beta offering.  The Knowledge Center for the open beta is missing an update to clarify that support, so I'll raise an internal defect to have that corrected.

    Please note that this information should not be used or otherwise depended on as a guide for future CICS TS release support or offerings that have not yet been formally disclosed.

    Just an update to say the IBM Docs have been updated to document what is supported. Unfortunately the doc update missed the cutoff as far as the second drop of the open beta, but it will be in the next monthly drop of the code and doc for ISVs.
