Hi everyone, I'm Tiiso Senosha from the University of Johannesburg in South Africa. IBM MTM was foreign to me until one of our lecturers, Dr Patrick Ndayizigamiye, introduced us to the programme. Well it was a once in a lifetime opportunity for me, or maybe I'm exaggerating haha, I grabbed it and was chosen to be one of the Zambassadors. That is when I learned about the existence of the big iron and all it's interesting capabilities. Interacting with the mainframe for the first time gave me an indescribable feeling. It was exciting to work on a real world machine that is used by professionals at IBM. The ISPF was new to me and it seemed so unreal. From there on I went on to complete all the three levels of the 2019 MTM challenge. It exposed me to a whole lot of different careers in IT that I didn't know about before, I've learned about new programming languages like JCL, got comfortable with the command line interface and the TSO commands. It was a great learning experience for me during the intense lock down in our country. You get to learn how to build connections, learn how the best in the game do their work, you learn how to collaborate and develop proper communication skills. Being a Zambassador taught me a lot and grew me as an individual to be a leader in my field. I hope you had an awesome experience too.
