So, I started the Master the Mainframe 2020 competition a couple of weeks ago. After being a presenter and completing level 1 live during IBM Z Day I was so excited to move forward. However my plans to work on the challenges changed once my school workload and extracurricular activities grew. I absolutely love that this competition is 100% self paced and the deadline is literally NEXT YEAR! This gives me so much time to actually take my time and learn all that I can from this competition.
So far going through level 2 of the competition has been really cool! Each challenge I face with VS Code and working on the mainframe I continue to overcome. I love the feel of accomplishment I get after each successful submission. The competition platform is amazing. It's easy to operate, instructions are clear with images, and earning points while going through the challenges is a very cool incentive that makes this competition feel like a real game. I only wish we could use those points earned for something cool, like swag. Overall I have been enjoying this competition and learning so much. I plan to complete Level 2 by the end of November. I will keep you all updated on my progress! : )
