On Jan 09th, 2021 we hosted our 2nd session of the Artificial Intelligence series.

Title: How Machines and AI can learn to forget

Bio: Why is it not a threat but important that also machines can learn to forget, and how shall that work? Several research teams are working on such projects to find answers on those and other questions.

Do you think that computer science and ethics are two completely unrelated sciences? We will discuss why, with the increased use of AI, they have to get together to make sure this powerful technology is doing no harm.

    Our experts were:
Joris Mertens - Developer Advocate IBM Z at IBM Netherlands
Prof. Dr. Christoph Beierle - professor of computer science, leading the Knowledge Based Systems group at the FernUniversität Hagen
Reinhold M. Karner - IT entrepreneur and AI expert

It was a lively discussion with such interesting questions. For anybody who missed the event or wants to review some information, please access the recording here:

It was very interesting to hear the different viewpoints from IBM, the university sector and an entrepreneur.
We discussed different terms - artificial intelligence, machine learning, narrow intelligence, general intelligence, human level artificial intelligence/AGI (artificial general intelligence), superintelligence.
The panelists also ananlyzed the future of some job roles with increased use of AI.
The code of the brain came up several times, as well as the Human Brain Project. Fascinating facts were mentioned.
The speakers provided us with a wide range of books, articles, and videos to go through, amongst others about a fraud detection system on the IBM Z.

Here are the book/blog/link recommendations of the speakers:
    Life 3.0
    The Book of Why
Deep Learning in steganography and steganalysis from 2015 to 2018
    Steganalysis and Machine Learning
Fraud Detection on the IBM Z

The uploaded files contain a short overview on Intentional Forgetting in AI of Prof. Beierle, as well as the answers to the questions we couldn't discuss during the event anymore.
