The 2020 Master the Mainframe Competition has begun! Once I successfully completed level 1, I was eager to complete level 2. In terms of organization and time, I plan my schedule for the week by utilizing a planner. I like to have a visual representation of what assignments, engagements, and meetings I have planned and scheduled for the week. I also keep my workspace neat and organized. My workspace is free from trash and distractions. I keep all resources near my workspace, such as my laptop, a pen, notebook, and highlighter for note taking. Because I am passionate and enjoy the Mainframe, I have no problem with setting aside time for the competition. My fellow Z Ambassadors at Albany State University and I host Master the Mainframe workshops every Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00pm to 8:00pm ET on campus and via WebEx. I strive to learn and complete levels during the 2 hour span. I like to focus and be engaged during the workshops and as I complete the competition's levels.
*Seven organization and productive tips I will suggest include:
1. Do not procrastinate.
2. Establish a schedule that works best for you.
3. Use a planner or set reminders.
4. Prioritize your time with time management.
5. Collaborate with classmates and friends.
6. Pace yourself while being productive.
7. Be positive, engaged, and enjoy what you are doing.
