I can't wait for MTM 2020!
One thing I learned from the previous MTM shows me that mainframe is not as scary and ancient as people might have thought. The newest mainframe from IBM, the IBM z15, was announced
September 2019. For me, that is prove that mainframe is still being developed even now.
Furthermore, there are lots of new ways to develop applications on a mainframe. Many companies are now investing on Eclipse-based editors (like the
IBM Developer for z/OS or its younger cousin the
IBM Z Open Development) and there are a lot of new things currently being developed, like
Zowe which enables us to use VS Code to develop things! So you no longer need to spend your time staring at a
green-screen emulator :)
Therefore, don't be afraid to jump into the world of mainframe. It is
a promising career indeed and the community is so friendly! :)

Hey everyone!
I'm so excited to have met so many of you over the past month! Your enthusiasm for Mainframe is absolutely contagious!
Are you all getting ready for the Master the Mainframe competition? Those of you who have participated previously, do you have any lessons that you've learned, pieces of advice, strategies, or words of wisdom to share?
