Correct IP for MtM?

I registered for MtM yesterday and received my logon ID and initial password. I'm having connection problems though. Is the IP address given in the Connectivity Guide out of date? I'm unable to connect to port 3270 at that address from my 3270 emulator, or to connect to port 22 from SSH. I get a near instant connection refused from both. I don't believe this is firewall-related.

You should get IP and zID as part of part 1. It shows up as a web page. was the 2019 MTM IP address i think.

    Hi Dave

They switched to a new IP/port for the 2020 competition - I took me a while to find the TN3270 connection info, new one below: port=623

I found the PORT# on the HELP/FAQ page, the IP address can be found on the challenges pages (*see VSCODE videos)

Can I use 3270 instead of VS Code?
This year's Master the Mainframe contest is using VS Code with the Zowe plugin as its primary connection to the mainframe system. You can connect to the system at port 623 using your ID and password, but the challenges are written specifically with VS Code in mind. Since this system is for Master the Mainframe and Learning System usage only, we will not be providing any support for 3270-related issues.

    Hi Jack,

Thanks for that. I discovered after I posted my question that the MtM challenges were all VS Code-based this year. It's ironic really because I live in VS in my day job. So the attraction of MtM for me was learning the old school stuff. Glad to know I still have the option of using the 3270.

    Hello @Md Nehal,
While at, you will notice a 'Help' Tab at the TOP CENTRE. If you click on the 'Help' Tab, one of the options that you will come across is the 'ID / Password Tools'. If you click on the 'ID / Password Tools' option, you will find a link 'Click here to RESET your password' - please follow the instructions there to successfully reset your password.
