    Quarantine Work Spaces

Thank you so much for all the great ideas for weekly challenges!  @Robert Prins wins his third t-shirt for sharing his story of the little bit of code he created in 1978 but continued to use in a variety of ways for over 30 years!

For this week, let's see where you've been working for the last several weeks!  Do you have an office with several monitors?  Or do you sit in a tiny corner hoping the cat doesn't bother you?  I personally sit in the only spot in the house where the window is low enough for me to get a really good view.  Share a picture of your working at home setup!

    The rules:
    1.  Every Thursday, I'll start a new discussion thread titled Weekly Challenge.

    2.  This week, reply to the thread with your quarantine work space.

    3.  Vote for your favorite entries by clicking the "Recommend" button next to your favorites.

    4.  The following Thursday, I'll announce the winner and start the next week's thread.

    5.  The person submitting the item with the most votes will receive one of these Legends of Z t-shirts (or equivalent)!

To be fair, my space was a little improvised as we got into quarantine, using the same space for my personal PC space.

The front notebook is my work one: a second-hand Thinkpad T440 Core i7 with 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD+16 GB SSD, Windows 10 Pro
The rear notebook is my personal one: a Samsung NP16XAA, Core i7 with 12GB RAM, 2TB SSD (1TB SATA/1 TB nVME) with Arch Linux

The USB headset is an Edifier G2-II USB one. There's also a Logitech C920 Webcam, a Logitech M187 wireless mouse, and a Pioneer BRD-XD05 USB BluRay Drive, all of them connected to my work notebook. The microphone you can see is a AKG P3S connected to a JTS MA-XU XLR USB Adapter that is normally connected to the personal notebook.

The chair is really simple from a local business I bought.

Another Pic... Both took with my Redmi 8 cellphone

    Hey there,

Please find my work spaces! This one is from 2006 where I used to use Windows and used to play with old hardware to build Frankensteins and play with external modems.
    My Old Desk

But it always can be improved, and nowadays I have this new generation! I love my Thinkpad, and I have this one for more than 6 years, like new. It's an T440s, i7-4600U, 16GB RAM, running Ubuntu 20.04.

I have settled this desktop as soon as I could, there is nothing that I like more than have a space to work and study, and some times have some fun playing games like Hackenet or MTM (:

    And I love mugs!
    My New Desk

Me and my husband work besides each other, at times it can be difficult to handle meetings!

Slightly junky, but a work in progress. Trying to make this look like a real office.

Well, I usually prefer multiple screens if possible, it really helps me speed up things a lot! Here is a pic of me working on MTM 2019 back in december :) I couldnt rig up another screen at that time so I just rigged up 2 laptops with a wireless keyboard and Microsofts Mouse without Borders

Right now, I prefer to work anywhere where, as long I could keep my trusty cup of coffee :) Usually its laptop if i feel like moving around the house, and desktop if I want some good screen real estate! I love assembling hardware so my desktop is a custom built setup of an AMD R5 1600X with 16GB RAM, a couple of Samsung 970 Pros for that sweet sweet boot and access times (I dualboot to Ubuntu 20.04 or Windows), 1TB Seagate Firecuda SSHD for storage and a Deepcool FryZen to keep things cool and quiet all packaged in a Phanteks Eclipse 300 case

Feet up by the stove and brain engaged, another chilly day on my home afloat.

This time of year I'm mostly self sufficient for electric via solar, though I can get 230v off the engine, most systems (including the IdeaPad) are run off my 12v system.

Learning mainframe, on a boat, powered by the sun. I love boatlife :)

I count myself very lucky to have wide open space and nature all round me in times like these.

    Stay safe & code :)

    Hi Misty et al,

My home office space was set up many years ago and I basically have been upgrading the hardware/software.

Currently, I have a laptop Dell with i5-6300HQ quad-core CPUs @ 2.3GHz with 16GB of RAM and 1.256 TB of SSD + HD, running Win10. Regarding to peripherals, there are a SAMSUNG 24" screen, a MS wired keyboard, a Logitech wireless mouse, a MS webcam and a HP OJ Pro 8620 printer, everything interconnected via a Dell docking station.

Finally, my inseparable TI BAII Plus Pro financial calculator, which recently replaced a very old HP-12C.

It is not an up to date hardware but it is more than enough for my basic needs.

That's it and thank you all!
