  • 1.  Installing Jenkins on z/Linux

    Posted Tue August 11, 2020 10:01 AM

    Hi,

I am looking for some guidance on how I could install Jenkins on a z14 with z/Linux.  I'm a z/OS systems programmer and have never worked with z/Linux.

    Thank you,

    Mike

    Hi Mike,

Instructions will vary somewhat depending on which distribution of Linux you're using (typically SUSE, Red Hat, or Ubuntu) but in a general sense, you can start here: https://github.com/linux-on-ibm-z/docs/wiki/Building-Jenkins

You probably want to start out with trying the binary built by the Jenkins crew (first line of that wiki page, "Latest builds for Ubuntu and RHEL are available here.") if you're using Red Hat or Ubuntu/Debian.
