There have been many developments in the IBM Z world, and we would like to highlight some of the most exciting topics.

Our first speaker Pedro Acosta will look at how to Modernize your IT Infrastructure with Linux on IBM Z and LinuxONE. He will provide an overview of Linux on IBM Z and its capabilities as well as real-world examples of how it has been used to modernize IT infrastructures for clients. We will also discuss the performance and scalability advantages of Linux on IBM Z, its security features, and how to leverage the platform to help you achieve some of your sustainability goals while reducing costs.  Finally, he will uncover its unique capabilities that set it apart from x86 alternatives.
Next, Lloyd Mathews and Marcos De Senna will talk about Modernization with gen AI. IBM watsonx Code Assistant is a solution that leverages generative AI and is transforming the way system administrators, operators, DBAs and developers of all experience levels engage and interact with the mainframe.  Ask and receive accurate, responses to all your questions that can trigger automation to complete common and complex tasks the right way at any time.
After lunch, Andrew Bowker will discuss Enterprise Observability and AIOps for z/OS. Business success depends on detecting application performance issues before things turn ugly. Yet most enterprise-wide observability solutions provide little to no visibility into z/OS resources. Even the best operations teams sometimes cannot identify application performance problems until end users are impacted. Andrew will show how to gain a complete end-to-end view of hybrid applications, including z/OS.
To close out the day, Robert Catterall will provide a technical overview of the most significant enhancements provided by Db2 13 for z/OS. In this session, he will provide information on migrating to Db2 v13, along with the new features and functions that take scalability, availability, manageability and performance to new heights for your run-the-business transactional (and batch) applications.
