📢 Take notice! We've just announced, that we've extended the End of Service date for Semeru 11 another year. (Moving from November 30, 2024 to November 30, 2025). Why does this matter? Instead of allowing z/OS 3.1 users 8 months to move from Semeru 11 to Semeru 17 for z/OS functions, this extends the date to 20 months (12 months more!).
I've updated my blog with this new date: https://www.marnasmusings.com/2024/04/no-time-for-fooling.html

Subject: Take notice of z/OS 3.1 functional dependency move, from Semeru 11 to Semeru 17
Hello Community,
I just published a blog which should be of interest to those that maintain (or will be maintaining) z/OS 3.1 systems. Note that today (April 1, 2024) through November 30, 2024 is an important timeframe as you must move your z/OS 3.1 functions from having a dependency on IBM Semeru 11 to IBM Semeru 17. Details on this activity and background are provided in that blog post, along with the link to the official publication which was refreshed to document this change. (Note: z/OS V2.4 and V2.5 functional dependency on Java 8 is not affected.)
