  So I am total beginner when it comes to the IMS stuff.  I have gone thru a bunch of the IMS modules and it's great that a lot of it is high level and conceptual, but there is not a lot of practical in these areas.  Even with the videos... I have yet to see where examples to do things are given.  Maybe that is me and I haven't been patient enough going thru items to find examples.  If you have some examples or tutorials which deal with the subject above, as well as other ones... please point them out.

That being said, I work with the Broadcom Gen tool.  I am trying to Stand up a Gen Generated program in IMS.  It is Online 3270 with DB2 access.   We have managed to stand up IMS and have a connection defined to DB2.  In documentation I posses it tells me to Define items using the APPLCTN and TRANSTACT Macros.  

I was able to find those macros in the IMS deployment libraries.  I copied and tailored the MACRO setting the values as described in my documentation.
However, there is nothing in my documentation that refers to a Header or other item that needs to be put in place to actually have the Macro to work/execute.   When trying to execute it from the command line, or other items, I receive a message stating that 
 COMMAND MACRO NOT FOUND OR REXX IDENTIFIER IS MISSING+                                                                             
 SUPPLY '/* REXX */' AS THE FIRST RECORD TO EXECUTE AS A REXX EXEC OR, FOR AN EXPLICIT EXEC, SUPPLY THE EXEC KEYWORD ON THE EXEC COM
MAND                                                                                                                                

So... is it as simple as that I am not executing it from the right facility, and that I should be trying to execute it through some other program or some other command?  Apologies for this very basic question.. and the ones which are to come.

We managed to stand up DRD and I was able to create the PGM and TRAN entries into the IMS.
