New to Z

At work, I have recently joined Toastmasters-an international non-profit that teaches public speaking skills. I always feared that if I "ended up" in mainframe, I would not be able to pursue my passion in public speaking. Yet, I have noticed that my public speaking high has not come down thanks to "advocacy". The best thing brings me here is not just the mainframe, it is the mainframers. The community behind the Z that give make the "Zero Downtime" possible. The Z stands, not only for Zero Downtime, but it also stands for the Zeal of our community.

To celebrate this little moment, I would like to share a video that marks my entry into the world of mainframes.

Congratulations on your new role.  You won't be disappointed.  Young people always want to look for the shinny new object but you will find that you are in an excellent position and your new skills will continue to be in demand.  I'm a huge fan of the Toastmasters program as well.  Your confidence in public speaking will only enhance your desirability as a Z expert.  Best of luck.
